Dr Marjan (Jane) Ghadiri is a General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon who relocated to
Brisbane in 2020 and now operates at The Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower, St Andrews
Private Hospital in Ipswich, as well as Brisbane Private Hospital in Spring Hill.
Originally a University of Queensland medical graduate in 1997, she completed her General
Surgical training at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in 2010. Her post-fellowship training in
Upper Gastro-intestinal and Obesity surgery at Monash Medical Centre paved the way for
her ongoing clinical interest in this area.
Jane is approachable, friendly and caring and her ability to convey medical information to
patients in a digestible form, together with her willingness to spend the time to talk to
patients, stands her apart.
Since relocating to Brisbane she has established a practice that includes all her areas of
expertise including:
• general surgery,
• specialised oesophago-gastric surgery,
• weight loss surgery and
• upper and lower GI endoscopy.
Her areas of special interest are benign oesophageal conditions including GORD, hiatus
hernia and achalasia, as well as bariatric Surgery.
Jane is passionate about offering holistic weight management, having established a multidisciplinary
network to help provide excellent pre- and post- surgery education and support
for her weight loss patients. She prides herself on being available to her patients for
extended post-op care and ensures that they are closely monitored by both herself and the
team not only in the immediate post-operative phase, but also well into the future.
